The Cast Overview:
At the core of the Valley of the Heart’s Delight is a love story between a principled young reporter, Jack Daumier, (Gabriel Mann -Bourne Supremacy, Life of David Gale), and Helen Walsh, sister of the kidnap victim played poignantly by Emily Harrison (Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star). Against all odds, they find the truth about what happened to her brother, Blake Walsh.
Jack’s nemesis, publisher Albion Munson, Pete Postlethwaite (Constant Gardner, Usual Suspects, Brassed Off), is an idealist of the old school of might makes right, and heads the Committee of Justice which will organize the lynch mob that Jack tries to stop.
Adding to these extraordinary performances are those of Bruce McGill (Cinderella Man), as father of Helen and Blake Walsh; Diana Scarwid (What Lies Beneath), as Natalie Walsh, mother of Helen and Blake, and Tom Bower (Pollock), who provides a towering authenticity to the role of Alfred Ackle, sheriff of the Valley of the Heart’s Delight.
